AP Science Scouts is a parish-based, family scouting program teaching faith with science.
A person of faith relies on prayerful discernment, with many forms and practices, to remain open to the will of God for their lives. Likewise, a scientist compares multiple test results of an unknown substance with known substances to determine what the unknown is, or to begin to define it.
APSS is a whole family approach to exploring God's creation - the visible and the invisible.
PARISH-BASED
Individuals live their faith within their family, and families within their parish. AP Science Scouts aims to increase the involvement of families in parish life.
BADGES
AP Science Scouts recognizes the achievements of young minds and souls in expanding their knowledge of both faith and science.
SCIENCE SATURDAYS/SUNDAYS
Monthly meetings at the parish for parents and scouts, hosted by parish volunteers following the APSS handbook.
FAMILY PROJECTS
A faith challenge and a kitted experiment or build are given to families to take home. Results are shared at the next monthly meeting.
"All of science points to the majesty of God! And knowledge of science can expand our understanding of the Catholic Faith."
